Our 100 Year Loss

100 years ago today the little country with a huge heart stood up to a much larger European power. The little country was Serbia, she refused to be 'annexed' and 'occupied' by the Austro-Hungary Empire. The Serbs believed, just as our Founding Fathers, that men had the right to determine their own destinies and that freedom was worth fighting for. When the little country of Serbia stood up to her aggressor, she showed the world that some ideas were worth the fight and were larger than any invading army. It was not an easy fight, nor was it short or civilized, for those are not the way of war. It was the heart and soul of each Serb that supported her cause and did in fact aid in her ability to hold out against such insurmountable odds.

During the days of this struggle of the Serbian people in a land far removed from American Shores, it was the original spirit of America that stood with them and is best remembered in these words by then President Wilson;

On Sunday, 28th of this present month, will occur the fourth anniversary of the day when the gallant people of Serbia, rather than submit to the studied and ignoble exactions of a prearranged foe, were called upon by the war declaration of Austria-Hungary to defend their territory and their homes against an enemy bent on their destruction. Nobly did they respond. So valiantly and courageously did they oppose the forces of a country ten times greater in population and resources that it was only after they had thrice driven the Austrians back and Germany and Bulgaria had come to the aid of Austria that they were compelled to retreat into Albania. While their territory has been devastated and their homes despoiled, the spirit of the Serbian people has not been broken. Though overwhelmed by superior forces, their love of freedom remains unabated. Brutal force has left unaffected their firm determination to sacrifice everything for liberty and independence.

It is fitting that the people of the United States, dedicated to the self-evident truth that is the right of the people of all nations, small as well as great, to live their own lives and choose their own Government, and remembering that the principles for which Serbia has so nobly fought and suffered are those for which the United States is fighting, should on the occasion of this anniversary manifest in an appropriate manner their war sympathy with this oppressed people who have so heroically resisted the aims of the Germanic nations to master the world. At the same time, we should not forget the kindred people of the Great Slavic race--the Poles, the Czechs and Jugo-Slavs, who, now dominated and oppressed by alien races yearn for independence and national unity.
This can be done in a manner no more appropriate than in our churches.
I, therefore, appeal to the people of the United States of all faiths and creeds to assemble in their several places of worship on Sunday July 28, for the purpose of giving expression to their sympathy with this subjugated people and their oppressed and dominated kindred on other lands, and to invoke the blessings of Almighty God upon them and upon the cause to which they are pledged.
Woodrow Wilson, President
The White House, July 1918

If as an American you managed to get through that speech without the slightest hint of shame or guilt or feeling of smallness, then you have lost all of the spirit that built this once great nation. For those of you that think that America is still the 'Greatest' nation on Earth and deserving of the title of 'Superpower' let me point out the basic tenant of the founding of America and of her foreign policy up till 100 years ago, when She sold out and lost her honor and valor and integrity;

It is fitting that the people of the United States, dedicated to the self-evident truth that is the right of the people of all nations, small as well as great, to live their own lives and choose their own Government...

Whether we adhere to the truth or not, it is still truth that it is the RIGHT of the people of ALL nations to live their own lives and choose their own governments. It is NOT the right of this country or any other country to impose by bribery, intimidation, or force their own will for their own gain over the people of another country. And it should NEVER be accepted by the people of any nation that their government allow such incursions against their sovereignty.

Déjà vu for Malaysia Airlines

Some of you may remember a phrase made popular by comedian Arsenio Hall, "Things that make you go hmm..."
Well this week there was a really big thing that certainly made me 'go hmmm.....'
On 17 July Malaysian Flight MH17 was downed over the conflict zone of Eastern Ukraine. While the West jumped right to the blame and smear Russia game they have been engaged in forever it seems like, there are some facts and coincidences that line up like one too many white elephants in the smoking room of the Congressional Boys Club.
First; this is the 2nd total loss aircraft incident for Malyasian Airlines within 4 months, I would have to do some research but outside of 9/11 I think that is a one time event.
Second, both Flight MH370 and MH17 had a large number of people of specific groups on their flights. MH370 had 20 employees of Freescale Semiconductor on board, there seems to be some question as to defense contracts and or Chinese relations with the company and or employees. MH17 had 30 respected researchers and healthcare workers headed to a conference on HIV/AIDS.
Third, both planes met their demise in questionable air space. Flight MH370 supposedly changing course in mid flight for no known or apparent reason and MH17 flying a different air route than its previous flights and thus flying over a conflict zone that had known airspace conflicts and aggressions.
Then there are the specific components of Flight MH17 that make you 'go hmm....'
Why was it flying over the conflict zone?
Why was it escorted by 2 Ukrainian fighter jets?
Why was it flying at only 33000 feet over a conflict zone?
Why did Ukraine Air Traffic Control authorize such a flight path?
Did Ukraine and the West set the commercial airliner up for disaster?
Did Ukraine hope by its actions to increase the probability that MH17 would be damaged or destroyed?
Who gave the OK to allow MH17 to fly over the conflict zone?
Who ordered 2 Ukrainian fighter jets to escort a commercial airline?
Why was this flight chosen to be endangered?
Why was it chosen on the same day that Putin was to return from Brazil?

The sad part of this event is that families lost loved ones for the goal of those in power filled with hate and lacking compassion. The tragic part is that Western media will not ask the questions I have just put forward, they will merely parrot the lines of the Western governments in saying that "Pro-Russian terrorists shot down the plane." There will be NO real investigative reporting on the topic, there will be no grilling the State Department or the FAA or NTSB regarding the questions that hang so obviously in the air. No, the Western media will tip toe around those very big and very white elephants with their eyes closed so they can pretend they are being honest journalists while merely being parroted front men for the perversions of their corporate bosses.

Hate Is The Shortest Path To Oppression

Americans have been so busy hating Syria, Gaza and Russia that they have not noticed their own conquering by Corporate America. Syria, Gaza and Ukraine are all very nice diversions to keep you worried about 'threats' beyond our borders that no one has been watching what is going on in our own house. This is actually a very common thing. Those of us that grew up in the homes of defenders and warriors know that it is very easy for said hero/warrior to spend so much time saving the world that they sacrifice their own home to a worse fate.
Take stroll on Twitter and you will find plenty of opinions of all the 'wars' in the world, but you will find very little about the war on our freedom and independence in the US. Most Americans are very firmly in the Pro-Israel camp. I have been told by plenty of upstanding Christians that to stop the bloodshed in Gaza, one need only to wipe out all of Hamas. When you ask their feeling about civilians, especially children being killed by Israeli rockets they claim it is Hamas' fault for using them as human shields. When asked where Jesus states there are times when killing innocents is justified and okay, they reply to tell you that Hamas, hates all Jews and Christians and want to kill them all. They call you a 'killer' or 'hater' for questioning their morals. Yet, they never give the quote of Jesus' teaching explaining when killing children is justified and acceptable.
On the topic of Ukraine, most Americans will tell you that "Russia invaded Ukraine." They will tell you that Russia wants another Soviet Union. They think that Russian soldiers are fighting the 'mighty and honorable' Ukraine army. And army so poorly trained and armed initially that any one of our street gangs would have beat them back to Kiev in a weeks time, much less the damage done had they been fighting a professional fighting force. Unfortunately, from a military point of view, the Self-defense forces made the same mistake as the Confederate forces did in the US Civil War. Their mentality and objective was just that defense, they didn't want to conquer the other side, they just wanted to protect what was theirs and be left alone. Thus their initial approach to the battle was simply to defend against advances from the UA, to keep their land and property and persons safe. I fear that Novorussia well learn the same lesson the Confederates did in the same manner.
On the poor dead horse, known as Syria, which now has split Iraq, Americans were appalled by 'Assad the Butcher' as Western media portrayed him, reporting how prisoners were systematically tortured, beaten, raped and even killed. Yet, in polls and reports by global watch dogs the largest prison population is in the US and the greatest fear of being in prison and of one's well-being and life if found in prison is also the US. That being said, no American is willing to go to war over US prisons, which are increasingly run by for profit private corporations without any oversight; but also completely support the aiding, arming, supporting of terrorist groups that are labeled by the US Government as 'freedom fighters' thus empowering ISIS to have the ability, capability, and support to conquer half of Iraq and a third of Syria and is being allowed to sale crude oil to Israel, our ally, whom is carpet bombing one of the few regional supporters of the Syrian government.
One of the reasons that Americans seem unable to connect the dots in conflicts around the globe is in the lack of diversity in US media. over 90% of US news and media is owned by just 6 corporations and with the buying of Time Warner, by either Comcast or Murdoch then that number goes down to 5, thus limiting more the availability of the American public to receive diverse reporting on any issue. It is the lack of diversity in sources available to the American public that through ignorance make it complacent in global immorality by American mega corporations through control of politicians and thus government. America has anti-trust and monopoly laws yet time and time again different government agencies and the Supreme Court have turned blind eyes to the merging of big business into mega-corporations thus insuring maximum increase in profits and decrease in competition. In addition these corporations reach outside the borders of the US thus the basis for hypocrisy in American Foreign Policy. Our Foreign Policy is based on the greed of US business and politicians not on honor or integrity or our founding fathers' belief in the right of every man to self determination.

Where did the American Dream go?

So scrolling through my Twitter feed, trying to get caught up with the important and relavent stuff by mining through the 'silly' stuff, I came across the following tweet;

Following 's debate with Thomas Piketty (), We're asking "Does inequality matter?"

I thought that is the wrong question, cause our definition of inequality is the root problem.

The 'liberals' or 'do-gooders' or 'leftists' give great speeches about bringing the poor out of poverty. And while that is a noble endeavor, their approach is wrong. Their definition of poverty is not accurate and thus their 'solutions' to the problem are not realistic. As with most of the core elements of society and culture the meaning or the method by which we define our existence has changed and not for the better. When we measure inequality what we measure now is are you materialistically equal to others, do you have equal money or equal 'things' and those are not the best judges of whether someone is equal.
We have so deluded the 'American Dream', though in reality it is simply man's dream not American or Turkish or Russian, but all men, that we have forgotten what the original dream was. The original dream was freedom and independence and the opportunity to follow one's own path. That dream does not exist anymore; it has been replaced with the dream of conforming, looking and acting like everyone else, doing and being like everyone else, and following the same path as everyone else. Society has allowed big business to remove the human nature from humanity. Creativity is ok as long as it is inside the lines; talent is fine as long as it conforms to the preset image. Motivation and innovation are acceptable as long as you are a company man. Intelligence and ingenuity are sought after as long as your soul is for sell. All these limits, leashes and cages on the human experience have crushed humanity.
However, we seem totally surprised that mental issues have risen, that drug use is at its highest, that violent crime is sky-rocketing. We seem ignorant to how business creating a consumer oppressed delightened work force has increased our diseases and decreased our happiness. We are animals, like it or not, and as such we were created to roam and explore and discover our world. Something that is severely limited under the subjegation of government control for the purpose of security and national identity.
If we truly wanted to do away with inequality then we would increase the foundational opportunities for all peoples and refocus how we define equality. To make all equal then we need to create equal and quality and real education opportunities across the board. We need to meet the needs of the student instead of requiring the student to meet the needs of society. We need to acknowledge, accept and celebrate the fact that we need many levels and skills and talents in varied areas and of various aspects for society to move forward in a meaningful and truly humanly successful way. We need to judge the success of a person not by what place in society he holds but how well he holds his place. For in an equal society the garbage man is just a valuable as the lawyer. Don't believe me, do not take out your trash for a week and see how well you like your house then.

ISIS Claims Caliphate.....Now What?

Ah President Obama and Senators McCain and Graham should be so very proud! Their little moderate terrorists are ALL grown up into a full fledged threat to the whole world that cannot be controlled. D.C. never seems to learn from one failure to the next. You cannot create monsters and control them when they are full grown. Especially when you do not even understand their history or their ideology or their culture. It is also worth noting that even US experts seem to not grasp the concept of fighting for or being driven either by a desire or a hatred that is larger than one's self or the complexity of culture, history, religion that interweaves to create the society we call the Middle East.

via Stratfor Global Intelligence

Who would have thought that President Obama, the man whom ran as the uniter, would be so successful in working toward such controversial goals as arming, aiding, funding, training the sequel to Al Qaeda, ISIS/ISIL with Senators that seem so politically opposed to any and every thing that the White House has tried to accomplish. But when it counts they seem to have proved that they really can work together while appearing to be totally at odds.

Over the weekend ISIS declared their own state or caliphate. How does that impact the Middle East and the whole world? Well, first and foremost, it completely destabilizes the region in an attempt to supposedly promote stability. Second, and maybe more importantly in the long run, it completely rewrites the view of the US in the Middle East, thus creating more distrust and animosity than previously existed. Thirdly, by realigning the region, it creates chaos that will be used by mega-corps to further separate the 1% from the 99% and provide tools by which to manipulate things like price of oil which will also impact the price of all consumer products on multiple levels. What most people do not realize is that gas or petrol, depending on your part of the world, is not the primary end product of oil production. Petrol makes up the least over all end user consumption of crude oil. Petroleum ingredients are found in everything from cosmetics to plastics to textiles and manufacturing.

The main point is, that it is the opinion, based on the very successful implementation of a disposable consumer society, that control oil and you control the world by virtue of controlling the world's markets on multiple levels.  Again, let me remind readers that many global economies are no longer based on a gold standard, instead most experts will tell you that they are based on the petrol-dollar, which from some points of view is accurate, however, the most basic economic describer is that most petrol-dollar economies are really just debt economies, meaning they are a complete sham and totally worthless, thus the need to maintain the illusion of richness based on oil dominance. Don't believe me, pull out your 'currency' and read it, it is a promissory note, basically an IOU. So we all go around and pass debt from one to another and take things in that method. Ah, but I have 'real' money in the bank, just look at my bank statement...uhm, sorry, no you don't. Those are just numbers on paper. Those numbers no longer represent your share of gold backing that institution cause the gold isn't there. And on top of it, the banks charge you to move those numbers from one piece of paper to another and to let you see the numbers and for you to change the numbers. Every single automated and automatic shift of those numbers on paper are charged by fees and penalties and decreased interest or dividends. They show assets in the form of loans (debts) or futures (illusions) and you believe that you have wealth. What you have is owned debt that is under secured and when the global economy collapses due to bad politics in the Middle East and Eastern Europe and Africa, it will not be repaid. The debt completely and astronomically out runs whatever gold/property/capital that might have backed it up at one time.

So how does this relate to the ISIS 'take over'? Easy, the US and allies used the ISIS and other groups to try to conquer Syria. Syria does not play by the rules. They keep their oil and sell it as they chose. Syria is really just Libya 2.0, in respect to oil control.  This means that US and allies do not directly control ALL oil sources. And that is the true and real end game of stability in the Middle East; complete and total control of ALL oil production. However, the chaos shows that the US is losing its finesse to manage regime change with behind the scenes control in such a manner as to appear to be doing the right thing and it not falling apart until history forgets that it was US that caused the issue to begin with...Saddam and Taliban. The US and her allies have to control ALL the oil production to maintain global control. It is that required control that inhibits the progress of renewable energy sources as well as lifestyle changes being encouraged that would increase the value of nature and decrease control through decreased oil product consumption. Greed of the 1% have encouraged the creation of and growth of ISIS. It is that hollow greed that will also be their downfall, for they have forgotten about the things that cannot be bought and thus will not know how to fight for ideas with their world of mirrors breaks.

UPDATE: This is a great article that shows steps to Syria's chaos and ISIS rampage.....by Ian56

Can We Get An E.U.... (Part 2: How to join!!!)

So, now that we know what EU membership really means, you say you still want in. Well just in case some people at home forgot, remember you're only as free as Brussels says you are; you are only as secure as needed to protect Germany, France, Brussels; your prosperity will be in direct relation to, without exceeding, your resource and labor supplies for the benefit of the same. The EU is now a 28 country bloc, with another half dozen countries naively vying for inclusion. Yet, less than a quarter of the member countries are maintaining some form of economic survival. Matter of fact the only country that isn't sliding is Germany, which by the way isn't flying.
via timeline.com

Today you hear people say, how did Hitler get all those regular people, all those intelligent leaders, all those educated people to follow him blindly into such madness and evil. Look at the 1930's world; there was a great depression, that had come on the heels of over speculation by Wall Street, which had been running free and without responsibility, Germany and Austria were doubly hit since their unconditional surrender and subsequent 'punishment' by US/UK/France meant they missed the roaring 20's blindly embraced by the West, not only had Germany/Austria lost the war, they had lost all pride and security as well as any economic hope. The phrase about money not being worth the paper it is printed on, was so true in Depression Era Germany that it was used as waste paper, for insulation and burned in heaters. There were no jobs, no food, no money, no hope, no dreams. Then along comes Hitler. He gives names to the blame, then gives answers to the fear, he gives hope to the hopeless. He did what most like him do; he divided the people to gain power. It was the Germans being ill-used by those non-Germans that were jealous of 'German Greatness & Purity'. And that is how Hitler got all those regular, intelligent, educated people to follow him. He promised them solutions and gave them illusions. And the EU learned well from his success. His weapon was hate, the EU uses money. His promise was German Greatness, the EU promise is 'American Dream'. Hitler couldn't deliver on his promise and the EU has NO intention of delivering on its promise either.
And still you want to join.....
The peaceful method is to accept the loans and bailouts, to completely restructure your infrastructure and education system to accommodate the needs of the EU even if that compromises your culture, your history, your lands, your people. To open your doors to free trade with member nations that due to advanced technology and productivity in comparison to emerging or damaged or neglected economies severely undermine and even erode the advancement of your industry. In short you are to play the perfect Dicken's Oliver to the EU Uncle.
via mashable.com

If you cannot seem to get your act together for peaceful subjection then there is the 'peaceful protest coup' method, see the timeline of events over the past 8 months in Ukraine. The US and EU pour money into 'promoting Democracy' in the target nation by picking and choosing which 'parties' and 'NGO's' they support. In addition they run 'Radio Free Europe' not to promote freedom of speech or the press, but you promote the opinions, agenda, 'truth' of the West. You have negotiations that you do not have to abide by. You hold elections that do not follow the laws of your nation. You remove the current government illegally with the support of US/EU/NATO endorsement. You forcefully put down any and all dissent to EU intergration
Then, if you still cannot get your act together and join the EU by the aforementioned methods there is last resort, just ask Serbia. You will be violently ripped apart by 'NATO/UN Peacekeeping' and upon failure to comply bombed into submission. If violent protests, sorry 'peaceful protests' that include violence, and ripping a country apart illegally does not bring it to its knees then outside force to help with the destruction and ethnic cleansing of the independent minded and free thinking are backed by NATO. There is NO military action too great to protect those innocent terrorists that were supported in their division and destruction of nations and lands that resisted the advancement of  the great EU so that Europe can be 'free and secure and peaceful'.

via kosovo.net

With all the options listed above there is a membership route for everyone. Just decide how you want to sell your freedom and the freedom of your children, grandchildren, and their grandchildren to the amazing, wonderful, illusion of the European Union.

Oh Serbia.....As The Rains Fell (Part 2: The During)

The Ides of May will be hard to forget for most Serbs, for a while at least. But the government was
via Vreme 1221
trying to sweep the water under the proverbial carpet as it fell. It seems that the government's solution for not being up to the job of dealing with the historic floods was to pretend they were in control by trying to hide what was really going on. In the article, linked in the caption of the picture to the right, from a television presentation of government meeting regarding the flood, the lack of leadership is apparent based on PM Vucic's inability to stick to one train of thought decision within 1 meeting and does not need to be noted more than to say, it is sheer luck and the ability of those on the ground in the disaster zones that more property, persons and equipment were not lost. For those members of the Emergency Services that were in the zone trying to make a difference, listening to the PM was more like playing "Red Light, Green Light" instead of being part of a cohesive government action.
To add to the poor leadership choices that were being made, or more precisely not being made, the government also focused more attention on attacking people than they did to meeting their legal obligations for the safety of those same people. Less than 1 month after the flooding and what can the government say they have done successfully? Signed a loan agreement with UAE. Questioned at least 17 persons and charged at least 3 for supposedly inciting panic, by sharing information via Social Media. Ironically, numerous reports are that rescue teams were able to save several hundred persons due to information shared via Social Media. What panic ensued from reports on social media? That has not been properly presented. What was the information that was SO insightful as to create panic? Passing information regarding where rivers were breaching banks and by how much; and how many people were either affected or had succumbed to the disaster. While it is commonly known that sometimes initial figures can be inaccurate, it has also been proven that initial reports seem to be more reliable than not. Much discredit that comes afterwards is to the fact that someone in the government spoke that shouldn't have or that information was accurate and shows ineptitude on the part of the government.
One would think that the government would have more important things to do during a natural disaster than to threaten, question and arrest people whom more than likely were making every sincere effort to help out their fellow man. And if passing along unverified information or numbers that the government hadn't confirmed or didn't want released is a crime and was worth more attention than flood response, then members of government are guilty of not only inciting panic, but also dereliction of duty and negligence. If the reports are true, as PM Vucic states in the article linked in the above picture, then the government kidnapped almost 100 children from their homes and separated them from their parents without consent of the parents. This conduct if in fact occurred as descried by PM Vucic, is inexcusable, immoral, unethical and illegal. Yet, there is no word on the location and condition of these children and their parents.
via-www.ifrc.org

During the course of the floods it was very apparent that many cracks were shown in the government and their ability to handle such situations. Just because something might only happen every 100 years or might never happen is no reason to be so absolutely unprepared for such situations. As was stated in our previous article in this series, the basic skeleton for handling natural disasters is the same. But without the skeleton you are a jellyfish carried on the current without any choice, instead of a man able to determine his own course. It is never a good government that acts as a jellyfish, in lieu of a man. The reality is that while the jellyfish cannot be blamed for where it goes or the damage that it causes along the way, leaders are completely responsible not only for their direct actions, but also for the actions of those following their direct orders. If one hasn't the fortitude for such repercussions then one should not be in public service position. Also, if your primary motivation for holding public office is your own ego and personal gain you are going to be a failure in such situations as floods. One does not out ego Mother Nature! The best that one can do is to find the most harmony from respect of her power and cycles.

via time.com Zepce 16May2014
One of the most apparent concerns to surface during the floods was just how divisive egos are in Belgrade. Yet, these fissures are not just withing Belgrade proper or within the municipality, but also have expanded to create in some places not just crevasses but canyons between Belgrade and outlying regions and municipalities. When one determines how they deal with another member of government based in a manner that publicly appears to be solely based on political party affiliation the whole public should not just be concerned, but also outraged to the extreme. Secondary, most people that are in any public office or that have any experience with public service know that you have more 'Monday Morning Quarterbacking' than you ever have supporters. That being said if you are going to pursue a career in the public sector you have to be able to handle criticism and extreme scrutiny of all decisions and actions that can in some way shape or form be blamed on you. If you are a good leader you learn to live with it. If you are a great leader you know that the best method for handling such individuals is to productively and positively engage them. However, it appears that PM Vucic instead censored them or by order or implication or facilitation directed the hacking of sites critical of actions and members of the government. That action is the action of a weak and or fearful leader. Which makes the whole nation weak and fearful. Serbia does not need more fear or weakness.

More EU Members Wanted........(Part 1; What Membership Really Is)

Anyone can join! We are lowering our entrance standards! We are desperate! We need to make Europe BIGGER and "SAFER"!
Ok, let me repeat for those that seem to not even be familiar with the word 'geography' (which by the way means study of land), Europe is a continent. It is a specific mass of land. It is one of 7 major land divisions or continents, of which 5 are connected to at least one other major land mass/continent. With the exception of loss of land to water erosion or natural disasters or land growth due to volcanic activity or earthquake caused plate shifts you cannot increase or decrease the size of said major land masses.

Let me repeat that; YOU CANNOT INCREASE OR DECREASE THE SIZE OF CONTINENTS!

Did we all hear that? I know not everyone understands that, so lets continue.

The EU does not control the title of European. I know they would like to. I know they pretend they do. I know they tell countries you have to join the EU to be European. Those are lies. Any country that lies partly or wholly within the borders of the European Continent are European. That is it! That is ALL it takes to be European. No, special rules. No, special permission. No, secret deals. No, economic enslavement. No, outside control. No, secret handshake.
What does this mean? It means that Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey and even Russia are just as EUROPEAN as France, Sweden, and Germany.
The pathetic irony is that the EU is selling itself as the identity of Europe. That is an advertising scam, it is called a bait and switch. Actually, it more falls under complete false advertising. The bait and switch part is that the EU promises you FREEDOM, SECURITY, PROSPERITY.
Lets see what you really get....
FREEDOM: Your constitution, laws, foreign policy, trade, education, regulations have to follow the laws, agreements, policies and regulations of the EC. As long as everything that you do is under the rules of the EC and approved by the EC and within the limits of the EC then yes you are free to run your nation (which is now no longer a nation but a member state) as you want.
SECURITY: The EU promises to protect all member countries from threats through the military capabilities of NATO. History lesson, Europe has not been invaded by a totally NON-European force in almost 1000 years. So just who are they protecting you from? Leprechaun invasion? Another Great Fairy Incursion? Ah, I know, rumors are that the Unicorns need more land! Now you might be saying that I am being ludicrous and absurd. But how absurd is it that the leading players in the EC are the same 3 countries that have invaded more countries, both in Europe and around the world, than all outside countries combined. If you no longer learn history, cause then you might not blindly follow your bought leaders into EU purgatory, let me remind you; France, Germany and England have at various times in the last 1000 years been the number 1 aggressors in Europe!
PROSPERITY: Little countries are sold images of 30 hour workweeks with great benefits and good wages and everyone living dream lives with all these material items. But what they don't tell you is that that is their way of life and to insure their way of life, they intend to control your way of life. They will promise to help you become "European" by reforming EVERYTHING about your country and your culture. Don't believe me? Name me a country that has joined the EU since 1995 that did not have to change anything within their borders or to reform any part of their governments or culture or education or economy.  However, the generous kind big brother EU will help you out with all these reforms by giving you LOANS and AID Packages (nice word for more loans) to help you meet the needs of the EU. Thus, in reality, your leaders have sold you and your children and their children usually for the next 150 years into servitude to the EU. Again, need reference, ask Greece, which honestly, I haven't redone current numbers, yet considering their GNP hasn't increased and their austerity hasn't lowered debt, with interest and fees and new 'aid' they are probably now at between 170 and 190 years.

Why would the EU do this you might ask? Simple the same reasons that they were previously militarily aggressive; first and most important land and resources, secondary if you belong to or are part of them then you are not against them and you are also fodder for their self-defense. You provide a buffer-zone for them and their primary security concerns, themselves.

The EU though must be getting desperate. This joke, albeit it be a very bad joke, in Ukraine is proof that NATO and EU think global domination is a good thing. Both the means and modes as well as the motivation for pursuing regime change so quickly in Ukraine, while still having fires in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt seems completely and totally illogical, not to mention it is logistically and tactically a military nightmare. Yet, they have engaged in ill-planned if not completely ill-thought out nation stealing in Ukraine. For those of you, Ukrainians that think the EU/NATO/US group is looking out for you and wants you as an equal, you have my sympathy.

Oh Serbia, But Not For Her Politicians....... (Part 1 The Beginning)

www.balkaneu.com
It seems that not only the world, but Serbia's own government has forgotten about the disaster that befell the country less than a month ago. The rain that fell on the Balkans in early May led to the largest natural disaster in Europe in over a century. Floods ravished towns and villages from Croatia to Serbia. While Croatia was moderately impacted do to its upriver locale, Bosnia and Serbia were not so fortunate. The land and people that still have scars healing from the wars that broke up Yugoslavia were freshly ripped apart with rushing rapids spilling over river banks and rain soaked hills crashing down under the weight sending lives and hopes flowing out of sight with the deluge.

From various sources and reports it appears that voter apathy during the last election resulted in an incompetent and impotent government, at least so far as natural disasters are concerned, which is the one time, above all others, that citizens need their leaders to step up and do right by them. Yet, there was an apparent stunned 'deer in the headlights' freeze that occurred in Belgrade, thus snowballing the impact of what was an unpreventable act of nature. I am sure I can speak for most intelligent persons when I say, the flood was not the fault of the government; that being said, there is much in their action and more weighted their inaction that is their responsibility.

It always amazes me that when weak governments are faced with such situations as acts of nature, especially ones that can be observed in their formation and development, government inaction is always based on the fear that knowledgeable persons panic. The exact opposite is the case! Knowledge prevents panic. An informed public is a calm and responsible public, of course that is only true when the information given is honest and truthful and given in a timely manner. As we know, this is not how Vucic or the rest of the government acted. As a matter of fact it appears that they almost did the exact opposite. Instead of looking at elevation maps and previous flood zones as well as consulting with meteorology and geology experts and issuing timely warnings and watches, in which, the police and military, as well as, civil leaders of each locale could prepare and assist in maintaining the safety of their residents and coordinate with their regional and national counterparts to ensure not only that all affected persons could evacuate in a timely manner, that they also would be removed to areas that were not under threat, specifically, not to remove persons to other locations down river or in the possible flood zones of other rivers, nor into the danger zone of landslides due to excessive rain undermining the structural integrity of hills and mountains. It would appear that the existing foundation of an Emergency Response Team or plan or even thought was not in existence in Serbia. While I understand that the current government is 'somewhat' new, there should have been in place for some time now the existence of an Emergency Management and Response team that was not political in nature; thus that it ranks were filled with experts in the various fields needed to ensure proper reaction to various Emergency situations with a focus on natural disasters. I have since seen a news article that remarked about Serbia working on plans to be ready for an earthquake; I sincerely hope it is better in application than their flood response was! But that merely reiterates the initial assessment that there was not already in place any comprehensive natural disaster plan.

How does one know you might ask; simple, the skeleton of all response plans to natural disasters is the same. You have to know your high risk areas and your safe areas and what your risks are. You have to know your infrastructure, its sources, its limits, its centers, its age, its repair status, its redundancy capacities and all available backups to all parts of the infrastructure. You have to know your transportation capacity and capabilities for each type of event. You have to know your medical capacities, your hospitals and their level of care, their capacities and triage/mass incident abilities, as well as any special care or focused treatments that could be highly valuable during specific events. You have to know your lodging/feeding capacities for evacuees, how many locations can be converted and the capacity of each as well as the level of lodging/feeding that it can facilitate along with the coordination of volunteers that can assist in the setup, operating and clean up of said sites. You have to know your manpower resources, their locations, their abilities, their training levels and the location and numbers of specially trained and or focused teams, to ensure maximum use for minimal causality numbers. You have to know your equipment resources and capabilities, you have to also have prep locations to move equipment to prior to known disasters to facilitate rapid response in the face of the disaster; focusing on using the proper equipment for the various situations to ensure maximum response with minimal damage to property or equipment or person. You have to know your communication resources and have the systems in place to ensure flow of information even if other parts of your infrastructure collapses and insure that all members of Emergency Response Teams are trained in the use of all possible, not just probable equipment systems. You have to know your monetary resources and set up priority with regard to acquiring and upgrading equipment while understanding the limits of your personnel and the ability of your support systems to run such acquisitions. You have to require and provide training for essential personnel, while also encouraging and facilitating the training of support staff and volunteers that will be as important in implementation as main teams are in time of need. You have to set up and run various training scenarios, these should be on local, regional, national levels with focus being on different aspects of need so as to constantly assess and redefine your progress and development to ensure maximum results. You have to keep up to date with other partners within the region and world, facilitate the inclusion of your teams in training under partners and encourage outside teams to train within Serbia; this provides not only exposure to different and broader experience, knowledge and ideas, it also establishes report that can be vital when disaster occurs.

The next concern after resolving all the above issues are that you have to ALWAYS have a Plan B that can be applied instantly! For example if your telecommunications goes down how will you coordinate with teams in the field and command posts as well as keeping those affected informed to lessen the number of causalities. If your primary roads or railways are damaged or destroyed how will you move persons out of danger zones. If the initial disaster instigates a secondary disaster how will you focus your resources and divide your manpower to handle both events. All of this is primary knowledge for anyone that has any training, education and or experience with natural disasters, yet it appears to have been almost wholly non-existence at the Interior Ministry.

NO Honor Left in DC

I know that it has become common open knowledge that politicians are selfish, greedy, arrogant, narcissistic liars, but there used to be some lines that they didn't cross, at least not very often nor openly, as the public still watched them and had morals that were lacking inside the Beltway. Now the public has fallen completely under the provided delusions of mainstream media, which is owned by Big Business, the very same group that owns the politicians. I have come to the conclusion that here in the US the public will not wake up and smell the coffee until they hit the sidewalk after falling off the Empire State Building! That is the sad sad state of American society. Most Americans have allowed themselves and their children to be so dumbed down by MSM and public education, not that private is much better, yes, I have had experience with both, that they completely accept the crimes committed by our government both at home and abroad. They believe the propaganda about threats and enemies cause they are ignorant of both the locations and histories of the events abroad. The problem is that after WWII, the prosperity that followed was so intoxicating after rations during both wars and the depression betwixt them that most became addicts of "The Good Life" which replaced "The American Dream". No longer did Americans want the opportunity to live a comfortable life making an honest living from an honest days work. Instead, because the men that had served their countries so well and came home and had the chance to give something to the comfort of their families, greed at the corporate level saw a great opportunity. These corporate tycoons, had seen how well propaganda and advertising had worked for the success of the war effort; thus they tweaked it and turned it into their own success machine to corrupt the American mind. A massive campaign was launched against the American public. Mass communications, in the form of radio and then TV, were the weapons used in this war for the mind. Corporations poured ideas into the minds of Americans that love was no longer about how you treated each other, but what you gave to them; success was no longer measured by remaining true to your values or morals, but by how big your house was or how new your car was or how many outfits you owned; your neighbors were no longer those you counted on and shared with and helped out, they were the ones that you competed with to prove that you were the better father, husband, provider.
The campaign was a success and the prosperity keep rolling along. It seemed NOTHING could stop the money flowing freely into the hands of the rich making them richer. Then something came along to upset the proverbial apple cart. The civil rights movement happened and people became focused on something other than spending money. The Civil Rights Movement, in and of itself, probably would not have been that much to overcome, yet the movement snowballed. The movement woke up the spirit of human nature, the one that corporations had been so diligently lulling to sleep with their slogans and spokespersons. With the Civil Rights movement came the Peace Movement and a resurgence in the feminist movement. Then the unthinkable happened, President Kennedy made his famous speech and implored to the humanity in us all; "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country."  And then he had the audacity to set up the Peace Corps, so that Americans could not just help their country, but also the people of other countries. (Yes, afterwards the CIA and others corrupted it) But, the final straw seems to be that President Kennedy refused to send the US into a war that he decided we could not win; not for lack of ability, yet, because those whose freedom we were supposed to secure, had no real desire to be free. As the saying goes, you cannot save people that do not want to be saved.
However, by luck or design, the three heroes of this awaking of the humanity in society, President Kennedy, his brother, Bobby, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. all met with untimely and violent deaths. The light of humanness dimmed and the war that couldn't be won was fought and abandoned 10 years later. In that time their was still one keeper of light in the battle of good and evil, or corruption and honesty, that was the press. And that was what most people thought probably up to 9/11 and some still do. Yet, quietly and with the help of government, that should have prevented it as a violation of the First Amendment, tycoons were emerging within the news industry. As of today 6 corporations control over 90% of the media, that means that there is absolutely no independent and fair reporting taking place within this spectrum of journalism. And this 90% is also, working with the government to squash the less than 10% that is independent.  As for when the news media was firmly in the pocket of big business and government can be debated, I would say that it was completely controlled by the beginning of the wars in the Balkans, maybe even as early as the first Gulf War. But no doubt since the Balkans, there has not been any independent and fair and balance reporting of any world event by MSM.
It is of great shame that people are more concerned about Kim and Kanye getting married (who cares, it is publicity and nothing more, how they did it shows that), the latest criminal act by Justin Bieber (any parent who lets their daughter support this jerk and his career is telling their daughter that type of boy is good enough to take care of you one day, SHAME on parents for selling out daughters so cheaply), or the rantings of a complete and total jerk, that would currently be Donald Sterling (I will say again from what I heard of his comments, he isn't a racist, he thinks EVERYONE is beneath him equally, he was being a controlling jerk of a boyfriend, nothing more), than they care about violence going on in Syria, or Libya or Ukraine, or the humanitarian disaster in the Balkans. And it is this shame that allows immorality, and corruption to live healthy and happy in our sacred halls of government.

D Day +70 years......

Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day. And this post should be about honoring the honorable, brave men that stormed the beaches and eventually fought their way to Berlin. My problem is that it seems that their service to once great nations was in vain. Thus, the ceremonies taking place on sacred ground are a farce. Many of the remaining warriors from that Good War traveled great distances, both physical and emotional, to stand on the same sand that was stained with the blood of young boys full of heroic fear. Those young men from nations near and far stepped up and took a stand against evil and oppression. They trusted their governments and they were full of idealism. It was, on the surface, the Good War.
But, today it seems that we are full of bad wars and the leaders cannot be trusted. Ironically, those immoral, cowardly (with the exception of Prince Phillip) leaders of the West turned this momentous occasion into a political drama scene. Apparently, POTUS can sink lower than thought possible. Less than month ago the hottest story was how the US treats its survivors of this historic day, which Obama managed to hide behind an even more insulting event to those men and women that have given so freely in defense of the idea of America. He traded 5 high ranking Taliban leaders for 1 little Private that willing walked off his post in a war zone after sending home all personal valuables and stating his disillusionment with certain aspects of the situation. With these fires burning at home, POTUS flies off to Europe as the leader of the US at the ceremony remembering D-Day, 70 years ago. The truly pathetic role that Mr. Obama chose to play this week was one of a spoiled, entitled, ill-mannered child, mad that he wasn't getting all the other kids at the cool table to follow his demands and knowing that all those "nobody kids" in the world were watching the event unfolded in real time.
Here is the deal POTUS, when you travel as the elected leader of the US, you are representing EVERY American. Some of us are not so uncultured as to think your behavior which is more reminiscent of a reality TV show (insert your own example of de-evolution) represents us and we are appalled that you think your classless rude behavior elevated you on the world chessboard. How dare you smear what our fathers and grandfathers died for on that beach! How dare you use their sacrifice to take jabs at Mr. Putin, whom represents an important ally in that Good War, that apparently you did not study while prancing and strutting through the halls of Harvard, finally decrying your blackness, having found that it gets you extras without actually being anything special, which is also an insult to each and every African-American whom fought and defended this nation and did it not by pointing out the color of their skin but in spite of the color of their skin. You shame them the most, they fought and struggled for you to have an equal and fair chance and you took their struggle and mocked it by claiming their heritage as your own and demanding benefit for it.
You should have conducted yourself with class and dignity. You should have focused on the meaning of this event. You should have made EVERY attempt to take the higher road, you know that one that you often look up to and wonder what it is, since you have never actually taken the high road. This was not the time for political drama pouting. If you thought shunning Mr. Putin and speaking of the Iron Curtain and Cold War, made you a better man, it is just more proof of your totally and completely naracistic personality. You are not the better man, the better man would have shaken the hand of the man whom leads the country who lost more than 20mil people at the hands of Hitler, the US did not suffer cities under siege or bombings or combat in the streets and you totally belittled the price paid by all Russians over what, your campaign of "Everyone Hates Russia"? Shame on you!!! This was NOT your day, it was the day of those that fought and those that suffered and those that gave their lives. And you could not for one day think past yourself! I do hope that you are proud of yourself; cause I as one American am not!
To EACH and EVERY man and woman and child that suffered, survived, fought, and died from EACH and EVERY country; I salute you, I thank you, I honor you. To the men and women that fought the Good War, on D-Day and every day of the struggle you are our heroes, our hope and our future! Not just on this day but on everyday.

Remembering ALL Heroes This Weekend

Tyne Cot CWGC
This weekend is Memorial Day Weekend originally it was Decoration Day. The holiday began as a day to honor those whom gave their lives in the War Between the States but later on after the great wars of the early 20th century, it became known as Memorial Day. The original date for this scared holiday was 30 May, however, Congress changed the date to be the last Monday in May, thus creating a long weekend and defacto start of summer. It is unfortunate that especially right now with the news headlining the scandal within the Veterans Administration, most Americans, do not know or appreciate the true purpose of the day.

It would almost be desirable to say that the current scandal of mistreatment by the government of our veterans is the first such abuse, however, that would be grossly in accurate. Ironically, to know just how often and how long the government has mistreated those that have served so willingly this country and her people, the public needed to turn to satire. Shamefully, for MSM, that is, it was Jon Stewart, on his The Daily Show, that actually noted mistreatment after mistreatment of veterans going all the way back to the formation of our great nation. This article isn't for the slamming of the government in its treatment of our worthy veterans, that is for another post.

This moment is to give thanks to each and every hero that gave for this nation. Not just the heroes that wore American uniforms, but also those lesser known heroes that wore the uniform of our allies through out our short history. It was the French that rendered aid to the upstart colonists, whom were determined to throw off the chains of tyranny that held them to England. Of course, most do not know that American had to throw off those chains not once, but twice. And if you hail from the north you could even say three times, if you count that England rendered aid to the Confederate States, during the Civil War.

Fast forward to the 20th century; yes, I know I skipped over the War with Mexico and the Spanish American War and all the 'Indian' Wars. It was intentional for varying reasons. Now, I know we like to brag about saving the world, not once, but, twice from German aggressions; however, those wars were called World Wars for a reason. It seems that at most if we remember how the Great War or WWI began it was with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, fewer still know that it was a Serbian youth defending the freedom and independence of his country that committed the attack. However, it is very very few Americans that know that at the time Serbia was an American ally. Matter of fact, the Serbian flag is the only foreign flag that has flown over the White House.

Then President Woodrow Wilson gave a statement to the American public about 28 JULY 1918;

The War to End All Wars brought a peace that lasted barely 20 years, not even one generation was raised in peace before once again the call went out across nations for their young men to take up arms and defend what was theirs. It is said, and I believe it very true, 'war brings out the best and the worst in men'. It seems that in that 20 years, the worst was brought out in our politicians, but the best was brought out not only in our young men whom stepped up to protect not just America but the world from Hitler's delusion but the young men of each and every country that would not submit to such depravity. How frail our memory seems to be about which side people stood and how even the 'good guys' conducted themselves. Of course some of the issue is that being victors and 'good guys' they have been able to influence the story and thus adapt it to suit their goals over time.

During the hell that Hitler brought to Europe and the world, those nations that stood against such hatred driven aggression were both big and small, rich and poor, yet, it can be said, each was great in spirit and deeds.

Here in the States, as I am sure happened in other nations as well, gung-ho boys lied about age and even pretended to be older brothers or cousins to join the cause. On the surface there was a clear defined enemy in Hitler and the Nazis along with their imperialistic Japanese allies. The need to defeat the Axis powers was a palatable one. Every citizen of the world seemed to know the dire consequences if there were no victory.

Headlines of the time
There are several 'simplistic' actions that aided in the eventual defeat of Hitler's Nazi Germany. First, Hitler's own arrogance blinded him to the limits of his military resources and assets. Second, Hitler was not able to engage any enemy in a two-front scenario, instead he was the one trying to win on several fronts against several enemies. How did this happen? Hitler believed he could conquer both east and west at the same time, however, the western front was a battle fought mostly by the French and Brits with the inclusion of the Americans with the D-Day invasion. On the eastern front he fought the Russians, whose will to resist he greatly underestimated, he did understand the numbers as well as the disadvantage of fighting in winter. His answer to overcome the minor issues with Russia was to cut through the Balkans thus forcing Russia into a 2 front war, west and south.

In order to achieve this the German Army had to accomplish something that it had been unable to do in WWI, defeat the Serbs. Hitler's solution was to use Bulgaria to this end. History does tell us just how well that worked out for Hitler, so I will not retell that story.

However, I will refer to one that is little known to even students of history, that is of the Forgotten 500. The fact that Hitler was soundly defeated was not the fault of an incompetent or impotent military, on the contrary, it many ways the rest of the world spent the war playing catch up with German technology and weapons designs. No, what defeated Hitler was that those fighting against him were fighting for something larger than themselves, whereas, especially by the end of the war, most Germans were merely trying to get out alive.

via Tesla Memorial Society
The fight for the air was especially brutal. Allied pilots faced high mortality rates and even higher chance of being shot down and captured. Just such was the fate of over 500 Americans over Serbia/Yugoslavia during the war. Unknown to the American airmen was that politicians and intelligence community had already decided that Serbia/Yugoslavia would be a future enemy after the war. Thus American airman were warned about the brutal Serbs that would as soon kill them as look at them. The reality that a very lucky 500 Airmen discovered couldn't have been further from the briefings they received pre-mission. The reality that America never told its fighting boys or their public was the lengths to which regular Serbs went to not only rescue and hide downed Allied personnel but to care for them, not only when it was maybe inconvenient, but also fatal.

While we were there, those of us who were wounded were given whatever medical supplies they had even at the deprivation of their own troops.   If there was one piece of bread in the house, or one egg, it went to the American airmen while the Serb went hungry.
If there was one bed or one blanket, it went to us while the Serb slept on the bare ground.  No risk of sacrifice was too great to insure our safety and well being.  One experience which is forever seared in my memory is the time a village with 200 women and children was burned to the ground by the Germans because the Serbs would not tell them where they were hiding us.  To this day, I can smell the terrible stench of their burning flesh.  One does not forget such things.

So on this Memorial Day, as one American who knows, I want to thank, not only the men and women that wore the uniform of the US, but also those whom wore other uniforms or no uniforms that helped, aided, and stood side by side with the US in her past times of struggle. May we one day return to our honor and also to our truth! Veliki hvala Srbiji!
